Ok since landon67 brought up power tailgate window problems up.....mine worked flawlessly since i bought the blazer in '04. In '05 I left to join the chAIR FORCE! So since then I have maybe put 1000 miles on her..(just replaced the exploded rearend a month ago) which happened in 06:doah:And just about 6 months ago I went to roll/power down the rear window with no luck. So back to my question! Sorry, too many road sodas...my rear key switch will not engage the window...up or down. My switch in the dash works fine though. Any ideas how to fix this?

mine did the same thing when I got it. I sprayed some lube in the outside key hole one day to loosen it up. Still didnt work. About a week later I put the key in the back to show my electrical friend the problem..... and the damn thing started working. has worked fine ever since.

could be the tumblers then??? ill try the lube tomorrow, then take it to my best friend next week who happens to be an electical guy. If it works I will be more than excited haha!

could be... spray some blaster or something in there. Jiggle the key back and forth a while and see what happens..... worked for me

anything.. WD40 is fine, just spray some in the hole where you put the key. put the key in and turn back and forth.. do it hard too.... put not too hard to break the key :-)

If the key turns, the tumblers are fine. If the key turns and the window still doesn't go down or up, you either have no power to the tailgate or the switch contacts are bad. If the window goes down, but not up, that is probably the safety switch on the driver's side tailgate latch. It is common for the switch contacts to go bad. I have rebuilt the switch before by soldering new contacts in, but it is a pain to get the switch out. You should check big wire coming in before tearing the switch out.

I just bought an '86 Burb, the tailgate window worked with the dash switch, but not the key switch. The power locks also didn't work. It was simply a blown fuse in the fuse box, it was labeled "power ACC" I think.
