Has anybody tried rebuilding the factory switch? Many toggle switches can be carefully disassembled, the contacts polished and working like new again. The hardest part is usually lining up the spring, contacts and toggle while snapping it all back together.

I'd be surprised if the aftermarket switch had as heavy of internal contacts as the OEM.

I have done this a lot before but now I am not as patient anymore and my eyesight is not too good.
