I recently broke the right rear upper shock mount on my k5 what would be the best way to fix this? can i just replace it with a bolt and use a jam nut to hold it tight to the frame, or is there a better way?

Probably depends what you do with the truck. If it's a daily driver not beaten on very often, bolting it down is probably fine.

My fix (which I quantify by saying this is not a hardcore wheeling rig) was to weld the shock stud to the bracket. That design is the inherent flaw, as any amount of play at the sthock stud allows the axle (through the shock) to hammer the mount every time you hit a bump, eventually either cracking the mount, or shearing the rivets off.

If it's a hardcore rig, I suspect you should be making stronger mounts and relocating them a bit.
