Rear Springs/Suspension

the o.p. your 2 points of wheel hoop problems the fix = traction bar setup .

leaf springs want to twist in the shape of a WAVE under severe power and traction of the tires on the ground . new springs wont do much for these 2 points I don't think .

I agree 100% I am hoping that ditching 4" block will help eliminate the axle wrap, maybe wishful thinking. I guess I should just plan to put in the traction bar anyways. MAW strikes again.

make sure its a ord or diy4x style unit with a shackle in the system up on the frame end . or you will limit flex like street traction bars do .

Don't worry. Our frames flex enough that it won't matter what type of traction bar you use.

The blocks add a ton of leverage against the spring making axle wrap worse. Imagine a 15" block and how easy it would be to bend the springs, so yeah, even a 4" block makes things worse. I'm sure getting rid of them will help. Make sure to keep the overload leaf too. It will limit upward flex like a bumpstop and help when the truck is loaded. It's tough walking the line between something you haul with and something you wanna have fun in. I would only do 64s for flex, but you are looking at them for rid quality. Right now, my truck rides really smooth 52/56s but I have very little payload-ablility.

I have the Procomp springs you are asking about. Same part number for ten years if that’s still the one. Lol. They are military wrapped and have the plastic inserts that help the springs move against each other. They are on my blazer and flex ok but wheel hop and roll were almost eliminated when getting rid of the stock springs and lift blocks. I have towed with it as well and dragging another blazer home for parts with a 10000 lb trailer, the spring still had room before hitting the overload. Fir the price I couldn’t be happier. Ten years now and no sag so far either that I can tell.
