Hey ya'll.

I have a Vortec Gen I replacement engine that's been sitting for @ 6 years now. (I know, went through a divorce, move , etc...)

I plan on pulling the heads to check the bores for rust, and have the heads worked for a higher lift cam. Thought I'd put a cam in while it's apart. stock specs are:

  • Intake Lift- .414"
  • Exhaust Lift-.428"
  • Intake Duration @.050"- 191
  • Exhaust Duration @ .050-196
  • Lobe Centerline-111
It's going in my 'burb this spring, work truck & weekend trail riding. (mild, for now!). I would like to maximize my torque #'s.

I plan on running a reworked q-jet, Wieand Stealth intake, free flowing 2 into 1 exhaust. (Edelbrock t.e.s. with a BIG dynomax pipe and muffler.

Thanks in advance, as always!

oops :doah:

Yeah, hydraulic roller, low end torque. btw, I have 3.73's and 33's (for now...)

That cam is appealing

I feel like an idiot for my lack of knowledge then...I have learned so much since! I love CK5!!!

I'll be running the comp cams extreme 4x4 cam. It's built just for torque...starts making its torque jump at 600rpm.

From what I can tell online it's the way to go if you're looking to pull the balls off a billygoat. Let me know if you want the part number.
