Recommended Web Sites and sites to stay away from

I live in a very remote area, and everything I order is mail order.

I've seen a few recommendations about places to stay away from (4wheelparts.com, lmctruck.com) etc.

Any feedback on good reference sites, good mail order sites, and places to stay away from would be great.

I've been working with summit racing a lot, and have had great luck with them so far.

Summit, Jeg's, Drivetrain Direct, PAW, Moser have all been pretty good to me. National Wheel and Tire and LPW are ok too.

4-wheel parts wholesalers,,is the only way to go,, if they don't have it they can get it,, if they can't get it,, they know whos got it,, awesome site too, i have ordered all my tires through them and they always beat the locals even after freight,, and 38" swampers ain't cheap. check out there web site 4wheelparts.com,, and after you order from them,, you get a free subscription to there own bimonthly mag,, its pretty neat,, all the others mentioned are chumps compared to these guys,, you want 4x4 stuff,, this is where to go,,

Never been stuck, just temporarily delayed.
 
I have never had a problem with 4 wheel parts..I alway's get my tires from them,and other stuff!

LPW sells some rear end componets... mostly stuff like axle braces, caps, re-inforcing diff covers, etc. They have a full line of Strange components and they have done quite a bit of custom 3rd member and housing narrowing for a few of the guys I know. 4 wheel F#@kups... just say no... If you can't walk into the store don't order because they're mailorder is total crap... see the other posts... like all 5.5 million of them.

I've personally have had good service through Jegs, Summit, and 4 Wheel Parts. You can also try Go Fast Parts, their number is 1-888-458-8326. Ask for Mike or Victor and Tell them that Richard told you to call. Mike is my brother and Victor is a long time friend. They'll do what they can to beat everyone elses price. Good luck.

Thirdmember is more of a reference to F@#d 9" rears... It is the gears, carrier, pinion, and back section of the axle case and it bolts in... Here's a pic...

Most Chevy and GM axles aren't like this... sometimes you'll find the whole pumpkin w/ no tubes called a third member for GM's... but isn't really the same thing.

I've had 4 or 5 seperate orders from 4 Wheel Parts and those bastards have messed up on all of them except for one...in some way or another. I would rather drive a Ford Festiva than order anything from that awful place again.
LMC on the other hand has been fine for me. I've ordered from them 3 or 4 times...fast shipping...good parts, so I'm happy.
I've ordered from Summit and Jegs about a million times and have had really good luck with both places.
More important than anything else: If you are unsure of a place, just ask your CK5 family before you order.

Yup....shopping = good. But only for Blazer parts and shoes! Clothes, I'll pass! I live like 2 hours from Summit so I love to go up there. That place is awesome! I have ordered from all but two places on that list (One is the drive line place- but they have done work that rocks for people that I know and are local sorta to me so I hear many things about them that are good. The other is LMC- but I hear nothing but good things about them). When I do order stuff it's usually nothing big- not like huge stuff, engines and trannys. But it's nice to know you can get small stuff and they'll handle your order and do well. I do say JCWhitney can be stupid and mess up. But if they do they fix it right away and make up for it. I got stuff messed up and they gave me a huge discount so it was worth it actually! I only go to so many sites/places because some sites/places are less on some items then others and vice versa. I save what I can because at $1.80/gallon gas cheap stuff I can't afford to waste money on parts!

I was just looking at your site and Blazer pics, NICE looking Blazer... I'm jealous!

You've got a lot more done on this then I have done on mine... someday though! All the fun is getting there though!!

I get all my engine parts from northern auto parts. nothing but the BEST prices and service. I am in awe of them. I have gotton everything for my 454 from them. cheaper, faster than summit or jegs. If they don't have something in stock, they tell me. I ordered a rollor cam, they had it shipped from compcams to me. had it in 2 days. summit told me 2-3 weeks on nonstocking items. summit told me 965.00 for my rollor setup without pushrods. I got it all from northern for 745 WITH pushrods and cam button. They did make a mistake. someone pulled a small block t-chain instead of the big block. called them up, sent it out fed ex. no charge for shipping. I just ordered a torque converter. summit 319. no stock. jegs, 309, no stock. northern 225, no stock, drop shiiped from tci, should have on wed. oh... paw, thats not the converter you need, here use this other one we have for 100.00 it's almost as good! I love northern. I think I could go on for a while, but I'll stop. oh..... I love northern auto. I never use the website to order. I call 1-800-831-0884. salesman 52/steve. I always use him. and for non engine stuff, national wheel@tire.
