redneck instatute of technolgy

my dad drove a 91 toyota corrola wagon 100 miles to and from work every day. it got good mileage and he doesnt care about looks so when it started popping out of 5th gear he tied a bungee around the center console so he could pull it around the shifter so it wouldnt drop out of 5th. eventually the taillights went out too... so he wired them direct to a plug in the cig lighter in the dash so he could plug them and un plug them...

My last 2 4x4's have had Prestone containers, instead of the original cracked OEM one!

so im not the only one

and one of my rear sliding windoes is plexi glass

I've got a hockey puck body lift because the solid 3" blocks are too much lift for my mechanical clutch linkage. So its really like 2.5"

Mine came with springs only 1.5" from the bumpstops, a wimpy 165hp 305, tiny 235/60/15 tires and 3.08 gears. Oh wait, that was GM who did that.

my truck has.....

- a 2liter pepsi bottle for thw windshield wash bottle
-masking tape around all the hoses and conecters
-a pice of pvc pipeing to slip to hold the muffler to the pipe
-po though the heater vents were ash trays i went to turn on the heat and got it all in my face

and i think thats all ther po did to it im in the process of replacing his mess

PVC on the exhaust? I was gonna mention spray cans cut to fit around exhaust pipes, but PVC?... forget it.

my friend told me his boss had a big hole in his muffler so he welded an old stop sign to it. Don't ask me why he had a stop sign.

PO of my truck said the stick from the np205 would vibrate loudly at highway speeds due to internal damage, the noise would be a little less horrible if you put tension on it. He decided a 1 inch wide 6 inch long rubber band running from it and around the sm465 shifter to provide that tension was better than rebuilding the 205. Rear window is held closed with bailing wire due to lock breaking off. when we had headers installed the idiot at the muffler shop burned out a piece of the frame to get them to fit rather then jacking the front of the motor. electric fuel pump was wired directly into the fuse block instead of a relay, and had 18 gauge wire to power it.

Heater is hooked up to a toggle switch and the wire used is similar to that found on an old household lamp...still use it but last time i tryed to use the heat it didnt work so that is going to get reworked
