Well I had the K5 all redone about a year ago but they didn't quite weld the floor right under the driver's seat and now its cracked again with a small hole.

I've been considering putting in new seats for quite some time and I'm thinking either Corbeau or a newer Chevy 40/20/40 split bench with integral seatbelts, just depends on whether it will fit comfortably with the new halfcab conversion kit I have installed (I know. I really need to get pics up of that :doah: its awesome :D:woot: )

Anyway, question:
What would be the best way to beef up the floor to accommodate the new seats?

I'm going to have it welded anyway for the crack and the same guy would put some more steel for around 200 bucks he figured and a day's work.

He was thinking that he would either weld in 2x2 ribs or put a 1/8" steel plate under the floor pans on both the driver and passenger area.

My only concerns would be that it has to be sealed nicely after and I don't want any crap getting stuck under there that would cause corrosion. Probably primer and bedliner when its done. I want it to be a nice clean install.

What says the brotherhood?

Do the good ol' ryoken conversion.

The 2x2 will be stronger and keep it more rigid. If he did the plate, odds are he wouldn't fish mouths it like he should with something that will flex like a floor will.

Go with the 2x2.

What do you mean by the ribs? Like whats in the back portion by the tail gate?? And get some pics, I need Ideas for what I wanna do.
