Remembering Jason Payne - 1 Year Later....

One of, if not the baddest chevy(s) out there

Its eery in a kind of way. I have a smiliar pickup, a chevy ext cab long bed, but in white, and I have his soft top and tail lights... (right before he went all bobbed, chopped, etc)

Jason, you have not been forgotten.

Did a little stereo work today and got to thinking. I always buy round speakers. Why? Jason told me to. His logic worked for me and I've been using it ever since.
Whenever I had stereo troubles or questions I'd just PM him through the Off-Road.com/Chevy forum even after I had sold my Blazer and hadn't had a GM for several years.

I still have the wireing diagrams Jason sent me for my K10 when I was having a hell of a time trying to figure out what wire went where.

He was one of the best guys Ive ever known. Internet or in person.

I took these during a trip to the Hammers in '06-

Rock on brother!!!:usaflag::usaflag::usaflag:

Remember the Uber hitch that weight like 100+ lbs and had some 18" or so of drop that someone stole off the white truck back when it was a work truck/ wheeler?

I remeber that. We asked him if he had a hitch lock and he said whoever stole Uber Hitch drilled through the hitch lock to get it off right in his driveway.

I can't believe a year has gone by already.

We miss you, Jason.

im new too here and never knew Jason, but im just about in tears for your loss. i think just by lookin through this thread Jason was a very lucky guy in life to have had so much love and admiration. this kind of tribute makes me belive in the best things in life and my heart goes out too all who knew and loved Jason. rest in peace Jason.

Followed this link back from Pirate. Unfortunately I'm not on here as much any more. (No more chevy:(!!)

I can't believe it's been a year.

I first began correspondence with Jason on here and Off-Road.com, under my original screenname here, ShaggyK5. He helped me with a ton of the details for working out my SAS on my 88 GMC. What struck me about Jason was how willing he always was to help or answer any question to make it easier for others. He even expressed great sorrow to me that he had already sold old parts of his and couldn't sell them to me to help me out.

When I read the news last year i was dumbstruck. My girlfriend asked me what was wrong, and I explained it to her, but I'm not sure that I could make her understand why I was so upset about the passing of someone i had never actually met, who I had only talked to through email and forums.

I'm sure Jason never knew how many people he touched and affected, and even if he did, he probably would have shrugged it off like it was no big deal.

He is still missed.

RIP pal.
