hey guys,
So i bought a very strait and nice look 1984 2wd long bed 6.2 diesel(going to be a parts truck) It has a complete ac system that seems to work. Now jump over to my main truck, have a 1990 gmc v3500 crewcab 4x4. I wanna take all of the ac components out of the 84 (2wd) and put all the ac back in my crewcab, crewcab didnt come with ac from the factory . So my question is ,has anyone pulled a entire ac from one vehicle and reistalled if a different . Trying to see how hard the wiring will be and figure of a time estimate instead og buying a new ac system

I'll be interested in what you figure out as I'd like to do the same.

The wiring should be pretty minimal. Hopefully your current climate control has the same harness as the one you will swap in. I think it'll be just one wire that goes from the climate control to the pressure switch on the dryer then to the compressor. Oh and possibly from the fuse box to the climate control. If memory serves, it's just one 12v switched wire. The rest is ducting and vacuum hoses. And the fan stuff should be the same.
