Removing AIR

Do not attempt this in your livingroom.
This is what can be done to plug the manifold. The bolt is a carriage bolt. The bung nut is from the original AIR tubes.

That works i guess. When i deleted mine from my Jimmy i just used some plugs i found at the home depot.

That was the whole problem on previous threads. Its some weird thread. So you found some pipe thread that fit????
 
Yeah, it was an actual plug for who knows what. I remember it was an odd thread and i tried all kinds of stuff, like regular bolts before i found them. I think i found it in the plumbing section. It had just a square thing on the end to tighten it, kinda like the fill plug on front diff covers.

You're method was very creative though, and it works. I can give credit where credit is due.
 
Wrong answer boys...NPT ONLY works for early year AIR sytems that use 1/4" npt fittings.

Roadnotca came up with an awesome solution. The newer fittings are flare and are much bigger, not npt thread. I couldnt think of anything to work so i just left a lil pipe and hammered it flat:crazy:

Thats what I was thinking, some disconnect between early years and later, later must be some middle eastern metric BS; excuse if I offend any camel jockeys.:haha:

I just used the pipe caps for mine.
I had to reinstall the check valves to pass smog today but they are coming off agein tommarrow
