Can I remove a leaf from the front leaf pack to bring the front end of my truck down 2" ? Looks like it has 6" springs in front and only 4" block in the rear and I'd prefer it to only have 4" of lift, it's my daily driver. Also how many do I remove and which ones? The leaf pack has 6 leafs in it currently. Thanks

When I picked up my 78 k10, it had a plastic stackable style rear block that measured about 3.5 inches thick. I think it was an actually designed modualr block, it had 3 section with a center pin through them all. Front had 6 leaf packs and it sat definately nose high. I am not sure if these were 6" front springs or the 6 leaf 4" lift superlift springs that are mentioned in the old table of spring rates. Either way it was extremely stiff. I pulled the old 350 and drivetrain the truck did not raise up any. Dropped in a 4bt and drivetrain. I thought the stiff springs would be good with the extra weight. It still didn't budge. So I pulled two leafs out of each pack and replaced them with a 1" zero rate. The 1" zero rate is thicker than the two leafs it replaced, but it dropped the front by a good 1/2 " and it is much softer now.

For whatever that is worth. It can be done

if i was gonna remove a leaf,i think it would be the third one down.how are the rear leafs? non broken?when i had rear blocks i had a few broke and had wicked axle wrap.u joints every six months. removing a spring would be a roll of the dice to what height you end up with.but if you have the time, experiment. why not:D

Leaf packs were made to be tinkered with. Take out one of the middle ones to start with. It can depend on where the clamps are attached. Of course, keep the clamps in place.

had the same prob on a RC 4" lift i just put add a leafs in the rear and it leveled out after bout 2 months the front came down 1 inch and the back held in there
