Sorry diesel4me, I didn't mean to give the impression i thought it was a wimpy 6 cylinder. For an inline 6 it was one of the better ones hands down. For 80' 427s application, this will be a cool setup. It was a great engine, but to me, it's a low power engine. But, if I had an old Chevy/GMC pick up, and wanted to keep it as close to period as possible, that engine would be on the list.
 
It will get 2 or 3 carbs, some head work and a cam. Of course split manifold.
