I'm trying to get the gear out that the speedo cable connects to. The housing I just bought has a broken gear, and I want to put the one from my cracked housing in it. What's the trick in removing this bugger?

Probably best to let us know what you're working on. Different tranny's and t-cases are different.

needle nose pliers? pull it out? take the tailhousing off and get the little pieces?
