Hi guys ,
Its been a while , just a quick question will removing my front and rear bumper effect the chassis ? As in will it flex anymore or cause any problems ?

Thanks in advance guys

I'm going to go with no. The stock bumper is pretty thin metal and not really formed to add much ridity to the frame. Plus your frame twist is mainly in the center of your truck between the leaf springs because that's where the 'twist' force is applied. Imagine twisting a stick of gum . The center will twist and the corners of the gum will deflect, but there's no real stress at the corners. The deflection comes from the twist at the middle.

Stock bumpers of this era are mostly cosmetic and don't really influence frame rigidity. Your only problem might be running afoul of local laws if you drive it on the street. Most areas require most vehicles to have bumpers. Unless you're replacing them with units that are tougher or more suited to your use, I'd say leave them on, they don't weigh that much anyways.

The laws here are i would say not as strict as in the states so im going to give it a go.I will be placing a thick gage steel in between the chassis rails to mount a thin bit of steel to hide all the springs etc under the front. This should help with any (heaven forbid) impact on the front.
Thanks for the reply
