Okay guys last question how can I remove the ujoints from my axle shafts without damaging them. They are new axle shafts and new longfield ujoints. Reason to remove them is cause the seals on caps dry cracked and broke. I dont know how to remove them with out using a bfh and banging the *hit out of them. So do any of you have some tricks to remove them.

I use a press.

Make some kind of spacer (i.e. cut a couple bolts to the right length) to keep the yokes from bending.

Yeah I thought about a ball joint press. I think I will use that. Are those ujoints on there tight like drive shaft ones. I read on the d60 bible that I can take them out with a regualr grease fitting and pnematic grease gun but that sounds to easy. That the pressure will pop them out.

I doubt the grease gun trick will work but you can try and let us know :D

Yeah I doubt it will work but ill try it. It also said to put a bolt that thread size and turn it till it pushes it out but I think it will damage the inside of the ujoint.

i do the vise method. where you take a smaller socket that is just the size of the cap and put it on one side, then a bigger socket where the cap can slide into and tighten the vise with sockets on each side of the ujoint. i only recommend doing that if you got a big vise
