I couldn't find a "New Member Introduction Area" to put this, so I figured the General Section would work...(Mods feel free to move thread if need be!)

My name is Steve, I live in Reno, NV. I've owned a bunch of square bodies over the last 11 years of my driving career.

First vehicle - 1978 K20 Silverado w/Vortec 350HO crate/400/205 4" lift on 33's
Sold that truck to a family friend to buy the next rig...

Second vehicle - 1985 2500 Sierra Classic Suburban w/350/400/208 6" lift on 35's, very clean Suburban with immaculate interior, nice big stereo system (not too much, only one 12" sub), it was the Urban Assault Vehicle...

After buying my DD, a brand new 2003 Honda Accord v6 6-speed coupe...

...I got so many requests to buy the Burb, which pretty much sat for 8 months and barely got driven, I sold it... :(

A few months later, I got the bug again and found a 1990 V3500 Crew Cab, known locally as "The Ghost" that a former co-worker of mine had done 75% of a complete restoration and a complete 6.5TD to 454 swap. I finished all the detail stuff on the crew, upgraded a few more items and made it into my ultimate tow vehicle! :) I loved that truck...but I had to sell it to get an ex-girlfriend out of my life...

This V3500 is nearly identical to my old one...only difference was the tires/wheels and my V3500 had tan interior, not blue.

I ended up then selling the Accord (Thank God) and ordered a new 2006 Chevy Trailblazer SS AWD in April of 2006. I have loved this SUV since the first day I brought it home...I have slowly morphed it into a 900+HP beast...I will spare all the specifics, but a hand built (by me) LS2 with a D-1SC Procharger, 13psi (street) & 17psi(race) set-ups, custom hand built intercooler/piping system (by me), FLT Level Max Performance Level 7 4L70E, Yank converter, fully custom fuel return style system (by me), Baer 6-piston big brake kits front & rear with 2-piece 14" rotors, my brand of braided stainless brake lines, KW/Belltech Variant 3 INOX double adjustable coil over system, hand built (by me) adjustable 4-links and adjustable panhard bar, etc. etc. etc.

These videos were shot before I built the LS2, so this was a stock LS2, cam only motor on 10psi with 91 octane + meth.

My current DD is my grandpa's 1976 Scottsdale K10 350/350 "Sport". He died a few years ago and my dad gave me the truck to drive until I finish the new DD/Tow Rig

The new DD/Tow Rig is my old boss' 1987 CC 4x4 dually. I am converting it to a single rear wheels and doing a lot of clean-up work, but the truck has 52,301 actual original miles...

You sold a six pack due to anything related to a woman?

You know how much soft desert soil there is around here, right? :D

That isn't the first time i've heard that...Hahah! The guy I sold the truck to took care of the truck and when he went to sell it, the guy that owns it now just beats the crap out of it and doesn't doesn't care...I hate myself more and more everytime I see it or hear from a friend about it! :(

Luckily, I found the new project and I can start all over and build this one even better than the last! Now I also have more $$$ to throw at it, so instead of the truck taking time and having to trade off certain wants and wishes, I can actually build this one exactly how I want!

T400 to 4L80E swap is at the top of the list, but there is a complete laundry list of stuff going on with the new rig! :woot:

If his ex was anything like my ex I left in Spanish Springs, I can understand him selling it to get rid of her. :D

Do either one of you Reno guys ever spot a white and midnight blue Blazer running around? I sold it a few years ago before I left Reno and I miss that thing everyday. It had a 4" lift and it had a Conn-Ferr roof rack on it. I know it's a long shot, but it'd be kind of cool to see if it's still on the road.

I do not know of your Blazer, but I will keep my eye peeled for it...As for the girl, it was just the wrong time in our lives, the wrong situation, and that's it! We are now cordial toward eachother and she was actually helping me to find the next tow rig before I found this one! :) There was a Crew Cab SRW in Tonopah and since she now lives in Round Mountain, she took the time to drive into Tonopah to find out who owned the Crew Cab I saw while passing through town on my way home from SEMA (didn't have time to stop myself)...The truck ended up being too beat up for my liking, so I passed, but she did at least try to help me!

OK, I'll ask. What/where do you work?

BTW that black/white K10 looks real nice.

The brake lines are made to my specs by a Brake Line manufacturer back East...The various car endeavors I am in are mostly for hobby/fun, which is why I enjoy them, If I relied on them I would get sick of it all! :)

I work during the day for a large composites manufacturing company. We do everything from body kits, hoods, wings, etc. for cars, all the way to private label work for other automotive companies. We also do lots of work for Disney and Universal Studios...

Some of our private label automotive work -

Umm.... what do you say after an intro like that!?

Maybe, "Hey, how's going?"

I'm just an average gear head with more than average connections and abilities...I don't claim to be a genius about most things, I do know many geniuses though! :)

As far as work goes, the boss is the man that built the company to what it is over the last 30+ years, I just do a very small portion of helping run the company and all the sales and marketing...most of my focus is actually not even related to any of the above projects, I just get to see and enjoy them and the hard work that goes into them...

My focus is on Racetech, we are the North American importer of Racetech Seats. Racetech is based out of New Zealand (where my boss was born) and my job at this point is to make the final push to make Racetech a forefront in the Automotive Racing Safety industry. The big names is safety try to mimic our seats' designs and construction because they are the absolute safest seat within the FIA spectrum! My job, above going to trade shows like SEMA, PRI, IMIS, is to handle all day to day sales and marketing, including traveling around the country all race season long kissing hands and shaking babies at various road racing events...I frequent ALMS, World Challenge, Grand Am, various time attack events, NASA and SCCA races...it is more than fun, but it really is hard work!

I remember when they were on 104.5 The Rock and it was just the Rob and Arnie Show. Is the World Famous Frank Show still on?

I havent heard the Frank Show in ages...I guess he just got owned in the ratings for so long that RAD took back over! When RAD left Reno, a lot of the radio execs took it personally, so placing them on 105.7 was a "demotion" of sorts like they were trying to teach Rob a lesson for leaving, but obviously the ratings spoke for themselves and now they are back on 104.5! That's just my guess anyway!

What I really miss is Don & Mike...
