Is there a bolt-on replacement for the NP203 transfer case? Something without full time 4WD?

I'm 99% sure a th350 version 205 (w/ adapter & shifter) will bolt up to the trans without any tailshaft mods. The bad news is any other than a 203 will force driveshaft mods.

I do believe that there's a part time kit for the 203 as well... as another option.
He has another related thread, part time kit has been installed but problems persist.

Lots of things will "fit", it's just a matter of how easily. A 700r4 with np208 of np241 could be installed with minor difficulty. I think you have to move or swap the trans xmember and mod driveshafts. Now everybody can feel free to talk bad about 700r4s on this thread, too. No matter what they say, I have 2 700s in 2wd trucks with no problems. Keep 'em serviced and run a cooler, and th OD is great for mpg
