What should I look for that will be a easy project ? I am wanting all new seats , and also going to install a 3 rd row seat ! Going to junk yard soon , to shop . Any suggestions ? THANKS!!!

Blazers have a flat floor so easiest to find seats out of something else with a flat floor. Doubt you will find that but some thing close to flat would be way easier.

The drivers seat is worst , going to buy seat covers for now . The rear bench , is dirty but no tears . Passenger side is ok , small rips . Might just keep it stock to save some cash for now . I just though if I could find some seats out of junk yard CHEAP , I might change them . Thanks

what about getting newer chevy seats and swaping over the seat tracks in the front. thats what i was thinking of doing but havnt looked into anything yet.

i had a 76 malibu classic, i took the bench seat out and put 91 cavalier buckets in and the 76 bracket bolts ligned up on the 91 seats. i was hoping to do the same kind of swap in my k5.

Going with 3 covers , keeping stock seats . Who makes a good cover ?

Found 2 Chevy 96 or 98 bucket seats out of a regular extra cab ( no 3rd door ) , so pass seat flips forward . They are nice , cloth , power driver seat with power lumbar , power lumbar only on the pass side . Now just to cover my stock bench seat . Got both buckets for $130.00 ? I though that was fair . My stock driver seat was trashed .......

so how are you got to go about mounting them, are you drilling all new holes and starting over? if starting all over are you going to use plates or big washers or something on the under side for any kind of support, or does it not need any?

sorry for all the questions, but they are the things i am thinking about. Im going to get new seats too but not sure where to start.

thanks
mike

in perfect world they bolt up :haha:
I guess , drill new holes , and put flat washers or piece of flat iron under side

only reason i ask is currently i have a seat out of a newer k5, and the passenger seat bounces. i figured if i got stock seats it would go away, but if i put different seats in correct i shouldnt have this problem, so just looking for what everyone else is doing.

thanks
mike

I put '96 Silverado 40/60 split bench seats in my '76 K10. Took my stock bench seat out, drilled out the rivets and removed the mounting brackets (that attach the seat to the floor) from the bench's slider/frame. Then I fab'd a simple 1x1 square tube frame to weld to the '76's stock mounting brackets. -Now I had a platform for the new seats to sit on. Then I took that assembly and welded it to the '96's slider/frame. Sounds easy, but it took a lot of time mocking things up and measuring and lots of welds. Fun project though!
