I want to apologize to the younger k5er's. Like I said in my post, the younger k5er's, if they are reading these posts, see what can happen as a result of not really taking responsibility as many of the younger generation is doing. When I was a young whipper snapper, I got up early--worked my rear off so I could afford to buy or build a 4-wheeler. I did that as well as going to school and making decent grades. I know that any young k5er's are doing the same thing or they would not have a k5 and want to be buying parts to fix it up and make it a better k5. In this day and age it costs allot more for parts than it did when I was doing that. I really respect the younger generation who have enough intestinal fortitude to try to build up a k5. I see a few who have the balls to do just this--I see allot more who are the ones who don't give a damn about anything but partying and screwing things up. Of course these young folks don't have building 4 X 4,s on the mind--they dont have anything on their minds but trouble! If you are trying to build a k5, I applaud you!!! I will guarantee you that you will be better off than the ones I just described!!

It's not even always trash on the trails, it's the people that feel the need to sabitodge( I cna't speel tonight) the trails with stuff like scrap metal that chews tires in mud pits or carpeting that likes to eat driveshafts or stuff like that. If I ever catch anyone who does this I will run him over, mangel him in my driveshaft and then mount my tire with him inside and see how he likes it..... Sorry just one of those nights
Mike

You call that dirty!?

That's how this post started
@ss holes who purposly set a trap to screw up someones rig.
That's not a fellow off-roader that is some dikhead that needs to have his @ss kicked. over and over again.
That is just like the moronic dorks that burned down the tree farm here a couple of weeks ago because they thought they were geneticly enginering TREES.
Wtf is wrong with people. are they that bored .
Oh boy I'm not even gonna get started on that.
See ya

my truck's not dirty, it's earth tone paint

Unfortunately our sport is currently 'politically incorrect' in a lot of people's minds. Because of that we have to try and take the high road sometimes and just clean up what we find...it is frustrating, it is maddening and sometimes when we lose a tire it is expensive. All we can do is try and maintain the trails still available to us and keep maintaining them. Eco-nazis are everywhere, in the name of saving mother Nature they spike trees, and possibly sabotage trails to further their goal of a completely closed wilderness system where only hiking and flower smelling are allowed...with a permit and a background check of course...

We have to get involved, join a club, start a club...educate the unenlightened to the benefits of treading lightly. Adopt a trail and maintain it...we have to be every bit as fanatical about keeping what we have as the eco-nazis are about closing it all!

Education is the key

For the younger guys & girls:
Unfortunately for you, you DO get painted with the same brush. I KNOW not all younger people are of the "I don't care, it's someone else's responsibility" mindset, but as usual the actions of a few ruin it for EVERYONE. The only real solution: <font color=red>LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER!!!<font color=black>

When you see someone (of ANY age) doing F'd up stuff like dumping trash, step up and RESPECTFULLY point out that their actions are going to ruin everyone's good times. If they get froggy, just swallow your pride and walk away, let them move on and pick up their mess. Yes, it sucks. Yes, it's difficult to find the intestinal fortitude to confront someone in this manner, then have to walk away and watch them F it up anyway. Yes, it's difficult to pick up the mess afterwards and feel good about it. BUT, it's the only way we'll have a chance of saving what we have left. The minute violence starts, the Gov't (local, state, Fed, whatever) will step in and just shut it all down and we're one step closer to being "all dressed up with nowhere to wheel". To have any chance of winning this battle, <font color=blue>WE HAVE TO SHOW THAT WE'RE THE RESPONSIBLE ONES!<font color=black> So when you hit the trails, bring some trash bags and bring out more than you took in. That's how the hikers do it, and look how successful they are at keeping areas open to them. It's all about appearances, and the more responsible we appear to the public, the better off we'll be. We HAVE to present the image that our activity brings a greater benefit than just making us happy.
If you have an area near you that's legal to wheel in, get a group together and do a cleanup run. Call your local newspaper or TV station and let them know what you're doing and why. Get some before and after pics to show the difference your group's efforts made. Positive media exposure has never hurt anyone, and will only help our cause.
