Last month, I ordered a set of tube doors from RJ. I talked with him on the phone and we sent emails back and forth till we got the design I was looking for. He worked with me and put together some AWESOME doors. Now comes the fun part. The day came that RJ was to send them out. He went down to Mail Boxes Etc... and had them ship the stuff out. One box FULL of parts and cupholders and the two doors, taped together. 3 days later, the box comes in. JUST THE BOX. I start checking UPS, looks like the doors are hung up in OKC. I called UPS, they didn't give me any info. I called RJ and he jumped on it like a man possessed.

Well, welcome to 2 weeks later. UPS has lost 70 lbs worth of tube doors and is giving everyone involved a runaround LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE!!!!!! They even went so far as to say that I don't exist!?!?! RJ has been AWESOME through this whole deal. Working with the MORONS at UPS and keeping me updated. From the parts that I got, this guy does AWESOME work and he is about the most honest and standup guy that I've ran across. He don't run a big comercial business, he's doing this for *cheese* money /forums/images/icons/wink.gif but he has done A TON for me in helping get this resolved. I haven't even gotten the doors, and I'm already pleased with working with him.

BACK TO UPS!!!!! I've decided that from this point forward, I will NO LONGER be using UPS!! This is just one in a string of mistakes. They lost the doors, screwed up the trace, lied and said that the doors were delivered, lied and said that I don't exist!!! I'VE HAD ENOUGH!! They are NOT the only carrier out there and there service thus far has proven COMPLETELY pathetic. Pathetic to the point that they should be called customer NOSERVICE!!!!! I get better sevice from the man washing my windshield for a buck at the intersection and UPS got paid $50 for LOSING MY DOORS!!!!!!

Sorry for the rant, wait, I'M NOT SORRY!!! UPS DESERVES NOTHING LESS THAN A GRIPE WORSE THAN MINE!!!

Anybody else got any ideas?

Yeah, They beat up a box that was sent to me from Drivetrain Direct also, lost some parts out of it too. I have a post on it, so I won't go into details... I've talked to RJ about your doors, he's a good guy and I'm not surprised that he's doing everything short of going down there and getting medeival on them with a fence post.

He told me you were having some problems too. What burns me is they are less than 100 miles from me. I've offered to go up there to their warehouse and search PERSONALLY.

RJ has been rockin on this. My REAL concearn is that he is burning up ALL of the profit in phone calls. That to me is a CRIME by UPS!!!

When using any shipper, get a tracking #. All major shippers have web-sites you can track shipments. UPS or any of them can not prove delivery unless they have a signature, and that can be tracked from your computer.

I recently had a shipment from BDS that got lost, but with the tracking #'s showing where they were when the reached each terminal, it was hard for them to lie to me.

Man you do me too much credit, I suck, I really do, but at least my sucky crap should GET THERE ON TIME!

Now I have to call MBE 500 miles way and ask them nicely to help me get my refund, since technically I didn't ship it, MBE did! I really am burning cash in calls, but it's not too bad. My cordless phone went completely dead since I got home from school toady.

Anyway..... Uh yeah. UPS has been good to me before, and shipped everythign but a box of CD's on time. It's all rediculous. I bvet if SEARS got their crap shipped late they'd be kissing arse, but noooo not little(big) old RJ.

Here's some bitch points -

1. Claimed Kyle doesn't exist (uhhhh pretty sure SOMEONE sent me a MO for $130)

2. Claimed Kyle didn't work at his office (pretty sure he does, and what a nice and polite secretary!)

3. ADMITTED a screwed up trace that ended in UPS claimning it was delivered (Kyle sure did giggle at that one!)

4. Called Kyle to confirm he existed and didn't help him at all.

5 Ran me around for an estimated total time of 2 hours.

6. Will cause Kyle to get his doors FEDEXED! (even though I have to go to a town 50 miles away to DO IT) 30 DAYS SINCE I ORIGINALLY SENT THEM!

Oh well at least I am getting a refund and Kyle will be getting his doors. Plus I might have a AG4 welding project!

Yeah they've screwed me around good, but if they make it all better and send me some neat brown shorts and a fat wad of cheese money... Heh heh...

Oh here's a pic of the actual doors I sent to Kyle.

REST IN PEACE

We both had the tracking number, and checkit everyday! They've been in a town 100 miles away from Kyle since the 14th. Oh it's been delivered! LIKE HELL! /forums/images/icons/mad.gif

Thanks for that tip, it's very true and has helped me read through UPS's LIES! I'm sure it will help a lot of people out!

Trust me sport, I've got tracking numbers. Even with that number, they continue to lie and lie and lie.

I've been using UPS for several years now to do ALL of my shipping in and out of my office. NOT ANY MORE!! FEDEX gets the nod for a while till they screw up, then it time to go pack mule

Company I work for has a major repair hub located on the other side of Atlanta from me. I'm in the Cell phone buisness. We were shipping UPS and around the olympics stuff was turning up missing. We would ship a box with 8-10 phones. The broken equipment ALWAYS made it to the repair hub. When they would send the gear back to the shop someone along the way was taking one or two phones out of the box but sending the rest. Funny part is we sent dye bombs and guess what...those boxes were never opened. That tells you right there whoever was doing it was in the security end because they were x-raying before opening. There were about 150 peices of equipment that dissapeared in a couple month period. We use Fed-X now.
As far as where to ship. NEVER ship throug places like Mail box plus or other places like that. They charge extra as a handling fee. Waxer sent me some stuff and it was a lot of weight. They nailed him like $90 bucks. I checked and if it had been taken right to the terminals it would have been $60.

I stopped using UPS..I only deal with FedEx,and the Post Office for sending stuff.

I'm still in shock on this deal. The pic that is at the top is how they shipped. No box. They were banded together and shipped. Just got word that they (UPS) talked to the people in the suite next to mine?!?!? Don't know HOW they got that number, asking about MY package. This is getting weird.

BTW, No doors today either.

HEY KYLE DON'T PUT UP WITH THEIR CRAP! I THINK IT'S TIME TO GET THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU INVOLVED. UPS IS PROBABLY JUST BEING ANOTHER ENRON OR QWEST AND IS TRYING TO SCREW EVERYONE OVER! GOOD LUCK

Hey Kyle,
Sorry to hear about this f*ckup with UPS.
I had a similar issue with Fedex, but it was resolved in 2 weeks total. I ordered a mig from weldingsupply.com out of IL. Well about two weeks after I ordered it, I decided to find out what was going on, since I had not received it. Fedex put a tracking specialist on it and the next day I had a new welder.

Oh, Fedex erroneously shipped my welder to california by mistake. Then it went to Kansas City, and because of a so-called computer glitch, back to california, then to Kansas City, and finally showed up the day the one Fedex paid to overnight me got to my house.
You should have seen the box. It was crushed and left on my porch with the "this is up arrow" pointing down. I took a picture of it and sent it to the company I bought it from. He was not please. He got 100% riembursed for the one Fedex jacked up too.

that sounds exactly like what they did to me and mpascino when I tried to send him my steering stuff.
will never use them again and may run them off the road when I am given the opportunity

is Forward Air a shipping company or merely a frieght broker?
meaning do they have trucks/planes or anything capable of moving an item other then a telephone to call an actual shipper

they are a freight company...they fly or truck shipments all over the country...but the items you are shipping only go to other freight terminals...no to your house delivery

theyre a lot cheaper though

i sent some 39 boggers from richmond to texas and only cost me 150 bucks...ups wouldnt ship them because they were too big and fedex wanted almost 500 bucks

Later

I had the same problem! I received 1/2 of my shipment of a pair of 2.5" front springs! Real useful, huh? Fortunately, Jeff (Solowookie) jumped on it quickly also.

I know the shipper is considered the owner until delivery is taken, but it seems real stupid that the recipient isnt allowed to get involved. I think it gets even more complicated when the shipper uses a 3rd party agent like Mail Boxes etc.

I ended up getting $100. Not real great, but fortunately I ended getting a good deal on some TC 4" springs.

I gave up on UPS, and now use either USPS or FedEx Ground.

Good luck, hope you make out alright.

John
