Not bad for the aerodynamics of a rolling billboard.

No pictures. Today was a get here day. Made it. Carb has issues. I do too.

Standing in line to get credentials, I almost passed out. Stupid hot and humid. They had medics walking the line checking on people. I guess I looked right past the guy. They called someone out to walk me into the AC. Turns out, I did not need to be in the stupid line. A Gold registration let's you pass all of that crap. Not in writing anywhere.

Junior Ubered over from the airport as I was inside getting credit.

Fugly socks big time. Running out of fuel randomly. Has not quit yet. Carb kit will be at O'Reilly across the street from our hotel at 7:30 am. Letting the truck cool off so I can pull the carb. Myguess is, it has stuff in it. Will run fine for 20 miles then, bluagh, bluagh and right back to running. At any speed and RPM. Seems worse leaving a stop and at the bottom of a hill.

Bummer on both parts but take care of yourself first, I'm sure you will be switching driving duties.

Glad you made it. Memphis?
How did that ac unit work for ya?
For some reason I thought this truck was fuel injection

Glad you made it and your copilot is with you. Be careful in the heat, it’s hot all over but the forecast down here has the heat index around 104-105 most of this week. Hopefully, the trip gets better.

I got a new in box eddy, I never installed it, I can overnight it to your next hotel if need be….agreed take care of yourself, calling for 90s with high humidity up here too

Pulled the carb after the sun went down. Parking lot lights came on right after we finished.PXL_20220614_003614436.jpgPXL_20220614_004706041.jpg

Carb was spotless inside. Filter was clean. I need my son working with me all the time.

Some jackwad riveted the choke on. A chisel and hammer fixed that.

Figured out the issue.PXL_20220614_012449880.jpg

The wire attaching the needle to the float is missing.

Carb kit at 7:30am for pickup.

Is that a ccc carb looks like the mixture control solenoid well on passenger side of bowl.

Yeah GM rivited that choke cover on there to discourage yahoos from F'in with it.

Unless you stop at your place as you head east, from Memphis?

Cause I'm thinking that is a gutted computer command control carb, and it's not going to play nice.
