Checked. No.Damaged/blocked pickup ?
Held 20 psi without leaking out, but will be changed.Lines look old….sucking air?
No!Thing needs a Dana 80 front axle
Thought the pump went bad due to the filter being plugged due to crap in the tank.
Hence the confusion now. I drove it today on the 5 gallon can using the mechanical pump and only the "pump to carb" factory line.
Something in restricting flow intermittently. So all of the hard lines are coming out.
Clamped rags over the ends. Nothing, absolutely nothing, came out.you are pretty handy; could you rig something up and hit the hard lines with compressed air to see if you blow any crud out of it?
That was what I was thinking too, but with all the issues with no fuel flowing on the trip, possible something WAS in the tank and the lack of a sock allowed it to get in and plug the filters, but now it’s gone? Are you 100% sure it is fuel? It seems as though you haven't found a problem with the entire fuel system. Was the filter actually plugged with crud you could see? Or did it just run fine after you replaced the filter after sitting for a bit?
I have had coils go out intermittently, where they were getting too hot and then shorting out, and they would run like crap after cruising down the road just fine, you let it cool off for 15 minutes then it would run again, until the coil got too hot. Let it cool off for a day and then it might run for 30 - 40 minutes until the coil got too hot again. Would still have spark, but it would be weak as the voltage was low. So spark check would show a weak spark, but it wasn't enough to light off under compression. That tricked me a few times until I finally figured out what it was.
If it ever happens again, see how hot the coil is...hopefully you fixed it and it doesn't....
You still swapping in the 4L80E?
Yep. Replaced it when I did the carb rebuild at the hotel. Not sure if you ever said but does this still have the little filter in the inlet of the carb?
