Tomorrow it will go through the band saw and get some tape ran across it to test fit.

I had 3 inches clear to move the engine forward also. The ICT brackets have a 2.25" forward location. So I moved the factory brackets to that location.
 
I think I read those bumps in the valve covers were to help improve the PCV system so to not choke the intake with oil film being direct injection with no fuel to keep the intake valves clean it becomes a problem.
 
Right. The oil is supposed to drain back through those holes, instead of being sucked into the intake via the PCV.
 
School me. I ordered new engine mounts for a 1984 C30. They do not fit. The stock appear to be 1/2" shorter in length and the bolt holes follow that. Are BBC and SBC different? I have never ran into this.

Are you talking height of the mount on the block or the rubber mount on the frame?
That one you have 3 sizes.
Sbc, bbc, and diesel.
I think diesel is the tallest
