REWARD : my stolen wheels/tires back ny/pa area

I'm sorry to hear that some body punked your tires... That's just low.

Do you know everybody around your shop? (I mean neighbours)

Maybe you could just "drop by" and check out their garges/sheds... You never know who could've taken them.

And I'm not trying to make you paranoid. But my neighbour told me his freinds were plotting to steal my tires, but I sold them just before they could.

I would be super pissed if that happened to me. I really do hope you get them back.

Who said anything about threatening? If I found the SOB that stole those, they would get introduced to the great wilderness that is the cascade mountain range.

I'll keep an eye out :eek1: on the jersey side of craigslist. I'll bet they'll be posted up somewhere for sale.

You'd have to be an idiot to drive on those in the same small town you stole them in. Keep an eye on Craigslist and eBay, but it's likely this shady guy knows a shady guy in another town.

On an unrelated topic - did you make a spring hanger/cross member out of a receiver hitch?
EDIT: Nevermind, I looked again and I can see that the hitch is laying on the frame.

It happens.. a LOT more than you would think :doah:Criminals as a whole are not smart.. and the types of sh!tbags that would do something like that are doing it because of the opportunity was there.. not because they are geniuses.

Some piece of sh!t stole a jeep from a used car place in town here.. he had it for a few months and it wasn't till the sh!tbag posted it on craigslist and tried parting it out that someone realized it was their stolen jeep

i had this happen to me 5-6 yrs ago, and the sheriff told me ''more than likely, its someone that i know who did it!'' about 10 months later i saw an ad in the local paper for the same brand & size tires for sale...i went to look, sure enough it was my tires & rims, but i didn't know the guy...i could identify the rims though b/c i had bought 2 of those ''Chevrolet special equipment'' stickers from lmc and put them on the rear center caps, & had reported that on the police report.

i told the guy i wanted them and i had to go to bank to get cash...i returned with the sheriff and they arrested the guy and told me to get my tires after they took pics,...they pressed the guy and he talked,.. sure enough it was a friend of a friend who had recently moved here from Oklahoma city, who had been to my house and he had swapped my rims & tires to this guy for an engine...an engine that i helped install in my shop!!....

while i was out of town at a ball game, someone cut his tires up & totaled his truck w/a ball bat! totaled by a ball bat, i thought that was funny as hell, that's alot of beating!..lol..he moved back to oklahoma after various stuff of his was showing up torn up....last i heard before he left, his riding mower had burnt to a crisp...the guy who had my tires claimed he didn't know they were stolen,..but they fined him for possesion of stolen property and gave him a yr of probation...

i kinda felt bad for him b/c it is possible that he didn't know they were stolen, so nothing personal happened to him, but my friends let the theif know, we don't play that around here!....oh well, i got my stuff back...hopefully you will also, don't give up, it was just shy of a yr before i located my stuff...good luck!

As I posted before, most every time the thief knows you and or your shop or a close friend of yours.

kind of unrelated but a good "stolen items recovered story."

The year i graduated high school I was dating this chick. We were not getting along so well. I decided to enlist in the navy and that was pretty much the last straw.

When I packed my junk up for storage, I had noticed my class ring was missing. Looked high and low for it. Anyway, it was gone.

So off I go to the navy and the rest of my life. Of course we broke up and yada, yada.

10 years later, I get a phone call from the police from the town i graduated high school in. Asks me, "Did you lose your class ring, and can you describe it?"

Turns out, the chick had someone on the side and he was pilferin' some stuff from me before I had left. Got picked up for vagrancy and had some serious amounts of jewelry in his pocket. Cops, went through the year book to figure out who it belonged to since my engraved name had been mostly removed from the inside. Apparently he had enough dollar value of stolen stuff in his pocket to classify it as a pretty nasty crime.

Lightning does strike!

well got a decent lead i think and cops also. we did some work on it the other day. just lettin it simmer in the boiling pot for now and see how it comes out ya know.

then i do realy like and thanks you guys for the good recovery storys it gives me faith and hope in this time.

and if it comes down to it i can later on sell the spare 5th tire/wheel and see if i can real them in that way. ya never know.

cops did say the next day or 2 thay will make a few visits and dump a ton of pressure on the suspects and see what we get.

and i know a lot of guys that want to do that revenge stuff on there a$$e$ when thay are found. i my self dont care much just want my stuff back and watch them have fun in court. as its 3k replacement value and that will be grand theft in my state.

Can i introduce you to my ex-wife???

anyways, sorry to here this sort of thing. i think with the crappy economy, this sort of stuff will be on the rise. I would just love to catch someone messin with one of my trucks. i don't own any guns, but being in the trades, i have plenty of blunt heavy objects...

good luck buddy!

Great to hear!! Hope things work out for you. I'll be checking out a mud run next weekend. Re-told my brother(s) the story camping this weekend. A buddy of his works for TUFFTRUCKS in Rochester. He will be keeping an ear out to.

On an unrelated note, I will post some pics of his rig, in another thread. '99cclb, SASed, on 38".

damn man, I really hope you get it all back. Nothing pisses me off more than a lousy thief! Maybe set up some sort of sting and see if they are dumb enough to come back and try for another set and then beat em and get it all back! :D

Good grief, that's low. I agree, though, a tire/wheel combo like that will stick out like a sore thumb in your neck of the woods. And thieves aren't the smartest people, especially the kind that steal tires. Sooner or later, someone's gonna get drunk and start yapping about it.........

On a lighter note, I have a "recovered stolen goods" story to share. About 15 years ago, a buddy of mine got his car stolen and stripped. He had 3 new tires and one used tire on a set of unusual rims. About 2 weeks later, we were cruising in the work truck and a car drove up beside us sporting said rims and tires. A quick 911 call had the car pulled over within minutes, and the cops had the lad so scared that he admitted to buying the rims/tires a week earlier from a known scumbag. My buddy had already been paid out by the insurance company for the car, but his phone call resulted in the original thief's arrest for stealing and stripping the car.........:rotfl: :woot:

Keep your chin up, Brett.........

That sucks, I hate thieves. Good luck getting it back and getting the thieves locked up. Just remember, don't do anything that could have YOU ending up in their place behind bars. I am a less then judicial person and talk with my fists, but have learned the law has its place. Let them law and system ruin theirs.

FYI I use an engraver and put my drivers license, or the last of the VIN on wheels. Nice and discreet. My Audi wheels I engraved it under the part # and its been powder coated over. Its easy to miss unless you are looking for it.

I had a friend who use to sell VW parts at the Pomona swap meet. about 10 years ago he had a guy with tons of Porsche parts in the spot next to his, wheels, seats, fenders, exhausts, etc. A guy in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt walked up to this guys spot, pulled a key out of his pocket, put it in the door that was sitting there and unlocked it. Turned and then asked the guy at the booth "why does my key fit your door?" He was under cover, cuffed the guy and a truck came in and loaded the parts up and were gone!
