For those of you that have done the insides of your rigs and NOT put carpet back in, what have you done as far as rerouting your original stock wiring that use to run under the carpet on the floorboards?

What he said. I'm getting mine Rhino Lined in a few weeks and was planning on that. I've seen it done a few times.

Either that or the black corrugated plastic wire loom stuff GM uses.

I ran mine underneath the vehicle and then back up and in where it was needed.

Of course, it wasa bit easier for me as I re-wired the truck completely from scratch anyway.
The reason some of it is in weathertight conduit is some of it is stereo RCA cables, not rated for outside duty, so I wanted to protect them.

Quality install man, nice work. If you have to access things is it a problem?
I plan on running my wireing as high as possible other then where it has to be low in the truck. I will use a similar method as above where necassary.

If I run mine as planned I'll use the hard conduit and run it down the center and across the front of the ledge where the back seat sits, then spray it to match with liner. I'd stay away from the black split loom stuff, it's really just for looks from what I can tell. No real protection what so ever.

subscribed... :wink1: i need to start thinking about this with the rear winch, etc...

hmmm, thought I'd go look around for the stuff we've used in the boats... didn't see that stuff, but it brought up this cool stuff... I dig the smooth black at the top... fancy.....

and it also reminded me of when i built my Chevelle.. had a bud who gave me all this steelbraided hose (some was used on the trans in my truck!) and fittings...

mostly #6 and #8, but there was this 10'er of like #12.... so I'd said screw it and used it as conduit for my trunk mounted battery, along the framerail... pretty cool, for a freebie... :saweet:

well, also available from these guys are these.... i still like the black stuff up top....

Ditto on underneath. I didn't have much to run, but what I did was run underneath and back inside. I have Line-X in the entire rig and no wires anywhere on the floors inside.

That's cool. I had planned on using the corrugated loom material and adel clamps. I like this better.

I'm staying away from steel braid, as a single loose/frayed strand can cause hell with the electrical system. From experience...:doah::doah::doah:

In most cases, the split loom is just fine for regular wiring. That's what I have encasing my regular wiring going to the back for the taillights, accessory outlet, winch feed, amp power. The only thing I put in that liquidtight is the stereo stuff because those cables aren't rated to hold up for underbody duty.

That liquidtight is a biiiitch to pull wire thru. For longer runs they say your supposed to use their conduit lube and conduit puller.
