So, I was a bit jealous of Sara's hikey campy thread and decided to start my own.

I went out Friday to canoe Lake Umbagog with one of my friends. This has to be one of the best foliage weekends of the fall. We put down 5 miles Friday, 7 Saturday, and 12 back to where we started this morning. Lake Umbagog has excellent campsites. We don't usually hit pay spots, but these were worth it. Island camping is my favorite.

Just got back from my first weekend of skiing this year. It was a little but of a later start than usual, but we did have a beautiful night for camping.

how do you like that heater/grill thing?

Figure you have prolly used it a few times by now.

I don't really like it as much as I did originally. Now that I have had the chance to use it a bunch the novelty is warn off and I am actually thinking of returning it. Rei has an excellent return policy. :)

My buddy has a Kelly kettle and it is way more efficient. With my stove you have to burn down the entire forest to cook dinner.

I may just pick up a jet boil or some other gas powered stove for simplicities sake in winter when I return this. For summer camping though, the Kelly kettle is awesome.

Darn, was hoping that you would like it.

Carry on.

Hiked a small mountain in Pawtuckaway state park in nh today. There was about 8 inches of fresh snow.

that will buff right out, a little base filler, some fresh wax and you are good to go! :thumb: I'm getting most of my gear ready for 6 straight days of boarding :)

Awesome :thumb:

I'm headed up to canada for 5 days of skiing New Year's Eve. There's no snow down here.

I have over 250 days on those teles and I've never waxed them. Impressively those are my first core shots on those skis. I just cut the stragglers off with a razor and keep on going.

I have p-tex and a full tuning setup but I usually only bother with a couple nicer sets of skis I have. The edges on these things are round.

I want to update with new pics but tapatalk won't let me because of a username issue.

:dunno:

Owls head. It's smaller, but the closest over the border. It's about a 4 hour drive. The dollar goes pretty far for skiing in Canada. $575 for five nights and days with breakfast and dinner included. Most lift tickets to decent mountains in New England are over $75 a day.

Yah I went to whistler two years ago 3 lift tickets to whistler, a heli session and lodging for about 1600 a person

How the heck did I miss this one???? Awesome!!!

♥♥♥♥♥♥

So jellllllly of the snow :( miss it

So, Christmas Eve I stayed with my cousin up in New Hampshire. It turns out she is shacking up in a shack. Classy I know, but the shack was awesome.

This lift shack was built in 1937 for a "shovel lift"

I found this picture on the internet from back in the day.

This photo shows a ski patroller pulling a groomer up the lift line.

The first picture reads "The Shovel Ski Lift, 1937-1987, Dedicated in Memory of Bill Whitney, 1987"

The final picture is the view from Bretton Woods. I grew up skiing Wildcat and looking into the bowl, so whenever I ski Bretton I feel like I'm on the wrong side of the mountain. That's Mount Washington for people who don't know.
