how do you people cross water that is over the hood without hydraulicing your motors and filling everything that holds fluid up with water?

The design of the air intake on the 98 made it easy. You would have ot have water that high for a while to get any in the motor. The air filter would get wet on occasion though.

Just keep moving at a steady pace. Forward motion creates a cavity around the engine. If you stop, you're screwed. If you speed up or slow down too much, you're likewise screwed.

Haha, yeah since we were driving on private property (or so we thought the riverbed was private) drinking in the trucks was legal (or so I was told). It was fun nonetheless!
My buddy's toyota TRD got stuck in a deeper part of the river and we thought he had sucked in water (his filter was damp). So I removed his plugs and we turned it over...nothing spat out. It turned out he had just stalled and the starter got water in it and wasn't working well. I got it running several hours after. He is still having trouble with the starter though....

Here is one of the local guys, stock trucks are wicked:doah:
Water was well over the hood once he got all the way in but he drove out so I didnt have to drag his ass out.
