I'm keeping the rockers intact and building a set of 2x3 4x4 Armor style rock sliders. I'm a bit stalled right now figuring out the right distance between the legs and adjusting leg length. I also picked up 1/2" gr 8 bolts but honestly they seem a bit overkill

yeh this is what im doin

these pics arent mine but the pattern im following while im on break. body mounts here in the east dont last long plus no one makes a long bed slider kit so this is how its done for me

Wher did the pics come from? Those are some Beefy ass trailing arms/links, Id like more info.
thanks

I some frame mount ones ready to go on, but after reading through this I'm considering refabbing them. I didn't realize there would be that much frame flex. Now, with frame flex being a problem in general, what would the problem be with mounting to the body and frame? I would think it would help stiffen both, especially while running w/o a top. Feasible, or would it rip the body apart?

Mine mount to the body and the frame. No problems in over 4 years.

I choose to come off the frame.
Rockers where already gone from the earlier rock slider version which was a 2x4 chunk of iron.

I was also going for a minor boatside, the rock slider now gives me 36"s of clearance over the 30"s I had before.

I cut my rockers out and put some 2x4 square tube in them.
I have laid the rig up on them and pivoted on them many a time in the last 3 years with no issues.

Finally got around to fabbing up the sliders several years later. I'll post up some pics later.

So where are the pics? I want to see how you did it. I need to look at as many ideas as possible before I start mine. Post up!

This is my next project too. I plan on fabbing up my own. They will look like this one, but attach to the frame instead of the body.

Here is another pic, I can't remember who made these but I will use 2x3 instead of tube on the inside and make runners that go to the frame.

Something closer to this is what I had in mind but with the kickout like the above. I think if I sandwich the frame, it isn't going to flex that much. I had tube sliders on a Bronco that were frame mounted and no flex at all.

These are exactly what I'm planning on building. When you say "sandwich them to the frame," what do you mean presicely?
