Rocker Box ???

Hello, looking for help on rocker panels/ boxes. I have an 84 K5 which I am planning on turning into a removable hardtop model. I know 73-75 had rocker boxes to help support the missing hardtop. I have been told I should add these if I am planning on doing this project. 73-75 s are not available in the aftermarket. At least not as far as I can see. But I basically know nothing about these units. So please help. Are these welded in? I'm presuming do you know of any marketplace where these would be available? And can you actually send me some pictures of what these critters look like? Any more technical help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. Dan H.
