So i have a 86 crewcab that i would like to restore in the next 5 years. i bought a 90 2wd suburban for the interior, doors, and fenders to replace my current ones.

the suburban is rust free and i have started to part out the items i dont need. i cant find anyone that wants the tub.

would it be easier to cut the entire rocker section from the suburban to use in the crewcab later, or buy patch panels?

I would use the Suburban stuff, once you verify it's gonna work. The steel will be thicker and more accurately stamped than the aftermarket patch panels that are out there.

The rockers are the same between the sub and crew cab. All the crew cab is a sub with a little longer frame and a bed.

thanks for the advise.

the only thing i still may need a patch panel for would be the cab corners.

its going to be tough to cut good sheetmetal off the tub......
