Does anyone have a photo of an S&W roll cage for a 67-75 blazer? I need one and their website says its only $169, but I wanted to see what it looks like installed before I buy.

Or, if you know somewhere else I can mail order a roll bar or roll cage from, please let me know. All I have had before were jeeps that came with the roll bar already installed, but my Jimmy doesnt have one (yet).
Thanks!
Eric

Southern Cal, by San Bernardino. I went to the only place that seemed likely, 4 West, but they said they didnt have any roll bars and they didnt do welding. Do you know somewhere else? to go?

(1) The first blazer was 1969

(2) 1969-1972 was the 1st Gen blazer

(3) 1973-1975 was the first generation of the 2nd Gen blazer (full removable top)

(4) 1976-1991 was the second generation of the 2nd Gen blazer (half removable top)

With the being said you need to know what Gen blazer you're working on since the roll bars/cages are different depending on year and Gen.

Try asking about a shop in the Pacific Region forum, there are lots of people on here from so cal and someone should know a place to get one made up. Most people are more happy with custom then the s&w type kit cage

I'm a 72, so 1st generation. Thanks. I'll check the Pacific forum. I wondered about ordering something like that by mail. I would just be happy with the original (or a copy of) roll bar that came with a 72, and I am surprised none of the catalogs have them for sale. Like the original tow hooks, I guess.

If you were in NorCal, there are several shops up here. That said, there has got to be some place down there that could fab one for you easy. It doesn't have to be a 4x4 shop, try a shop that fabs for NHRA cars, or even a muffler shop. Sometimes the muffler guys will have all the bender dies and a notcher so you just have to buy better tubing.

That one in Jegs looks a lot like the one being sold by S&W. www.swracecars.com Part number:

8 Point Roll Bar
1967-1972 Chevy Pick-Up & Blazer, 1-3/4" x .134" wall tubing. Photo is for clarification purpose only, actual part may vary.

But I was hoping that someone had installed it before and I could see a photo. I think that, without a photo, I am going to go with the 4 point Jegs roll bar and hgope that it looks like the original roll bar that came with the '72's.

If all you want is factory type rollbar then get one of the kits from S&W or Jegs and have somebody weld it together for you.

Yep what he said, don't get the jegs one though. I have heard its c**p. I have the S&W kit installed in my truck. I got the DOM tube option. The kit went together fairly easily, just had to modify some tubes a little but nothing major

Does anyone have any pictures of the install of one of these quick kits? It's more robust than the stock bar right?

NV_K5, thats what I am hoping for, too. Photos. I would like to see one of these before I mail order it. Anyone have the roll bar, by either company, or another company?

Everyone Loves Pictures!
Post'em up.
I've been thinking about pre-fab cages also.

i want to know what makes jegs cages crap? 4&8 pt cages 1 3/4'' .134 wall, 12&10 pt.- 1 5/8''.134wall....same stuff s&w's made of..... and like he said "looks alot like"....thats exact same pic at jegs as s&w photo..coincidense??? not likey...standardized pic all manufacturers sho..naaa....jegs kits must be dom btw, they are nhra and ihra approved..exceed standards...jeg coughlin has pretty darn good stuff...i'd like to see pics of pre-fab cages myself, especially 1's that were used as a base...im thinkin a 12 pt and a 8 pt frankensteined, would make a nice full blazer cage. and of course pics of the assembled "bases" also.

jegs cages are not DOM, right on their website it says "mild steel". And I wouldn't go by what the picture looks like. Both companies use general pictures to display their cages. S&W offers their kits in mild steel, DOM, or Chromoly tubing. Another member here, 8 your H2, got the jegs kit and scraped it cause he hated it. Nothing comes notched. My S&W kit had some of the tubes notched, the rest you cut to your desired length and then notch.

here's some pics of my cage installed:
