Cage kit, through the dash or in front of dash.

In front. Through the dash is better looking and stronger as it allows for a cross bar on top of the dash..... But really alot more work IMO and in a kit would be easier for somebody to install in front.

I voted in my own poll!! I hear what you're sayin' dueling. I think its worth it to go through the dash personally. How many cages are you going to build in that rig?

through the dash is sexay, in front is a cop out and semi-ghey....

Its a good point. But not everyone is going to want to cut out a dash to put a cage in. Say somebody with a pristine dash wants a cage.... :dunno: I dont have a nice dash.

And I never said I wouldnt go through dash. But in a kit... Thats what I would do if i were making it.

through the dash, otherwise you knock your knees on it all the time.

and in front is the gheywhey!

I never "cut my dash out".... :dunno:

You cut holes in it.

And im trying to look at it through the eyes of the company thats trying to sell a product. Yes you and alot of guys on here put it through the dash. But you also all have benders and did it all yourself.

This is a kit, which I imagine, some kid with just a welder, could order, receive, tack together and weld up. Boom done easy install.

I want to go through the dash when i do mine so dont judge me and think im being hack or anything. Its my standpoint from trying to sell a kit.

stick + poke + Adam = fun..... :woot: :D

Kert.... you build stand out products..... is in front of the dash, the easy answer? sure.. thus why people do it...

do people expect some cookie-cutter S&W kit from you, or something "
above the norm"?

my vote goes for bada$$.. not some catering to "some kid with just a welder, could order, receive, tack together and weld up. Boom done easy install."

I know you dont care for my opinions but....

You guys that have sick cages, all built them yourselves, and have benders because you want them to be built your way. I think somebody that orders a kit, just wants a cage so they dont kill themselves and really isnt looking for a sick cage, but they are looking for easy... Hence the reason they are ordering a pre fabbed cage and not building one..... BECAUSE THEY WANT EASY.

I like through the dash, but as said earlier it is a lot more work and requires hacking the dash up, especially if you are talking me trying to cut the holes for it.

As a business decision my opinion would be that it would be easier to design one for in front of the dash that fit nicely and you may sell more of them which would probably increase your profit margin. For custom thru the dash they will pay accordingly anyway.

I think back to how many posts have been on here asking for weld together cages and most have been for in front of the dash.

I had mine built so it could be used on another rig or strip the body off add to it and make a buggy.

Thank gawd

I'm not gonna argue with your expert opinion in Kert's thread.. I voiced my opinion, and I'm sure Kert will do something cool..

I never said I was an expert on any of it, and argument is how a company can find what they really should do, so lets argue... :D

I just think that the guys that want a sick cage that spend time and alot of $$$ on it, are going to build it themselves to make it the way they want.

The people that hop online and order a pre fabbed cage, are the people that want a cage so they dont roll and kill themselves, but they want an easy install, otherwise why not DIY??? I dont think its a bad point.

Everyone in here but sean that voted against my point has built there own cage... So Idk how you can relate to someone that wants a pre fabbed one.

I would like to build my own but don't have time at this point and don't want to spend the $$$ on a bender/dies. BUT I do want a cage that goes through the dash. So I would buy that style. In fact, I'm going to be talking to a local place that does VW's about that very thing. See if they can bend it and maybe even tack it up for me and I'll finish the welding and paint it.

Whatever Kert designs it will be high quality and functional.

If you come up with the thru the dash design, then I would say just include templates and advise for the weekend warriors so they don't completely destroy their rig.

You could always incorporate one of your dashes in the design.
