The K5 will soon be getting a roll cage to protect my kids when I go off-roading. I never do anything crazy or stupid when they are in the truck. Just for my sanity I would like to have them protected and myself in CASE of a rollover.

What is the safest way to attach the current seats in the K5 to be safe?

OR

Should I buy aftermarket seats to make it safe and like what?

THANKS

PRP seats make a kids size seat. If you only have your kids in them I would get a good kid size seat and attach it to the roll cage. Five point harnesses as well.

If you have adults that will need to use the same seats you can get a regular sized seat and the kids will be okay.

My nefew was in a roll over this fall in an adult sized PRP seat while wearing the fourpoint harness and he did just fine. He's 6.

PRP, Mastercraft, or Beard all make a good suspension seat. PRP is the most cost effective.
They all make different sizes and styles so some homework is needed.

Interested in this for the future when I get a cage. The whole reason for me getting a Blazer was to take the whole family along. :D Thanks for the info!

These are PRP and so is the rear seat, it was made 12 inches narrower than a normal first gen since I tubbed the rear fenders. I used Tube rings from DIY4x to attach the rear seat to the tube and like 1 x 2 rectangular for the front seat mount. Then flat like 1/4 by 2 inch was welded on top and the front seat sliders were bolted to the flat bar. Shock tabs were cut and welded to the flat for the harness mounts for the front seats. Rear seat tube rings were used for the harness mounts (I should say Hartley Truck and Tubing) instead of I.:o

Thank You fellas! I am looking for the PRP seats right now. I am getting the cage done ASAP so when it's finished I will post a picture.

Thank YOu once again.

40 inches outside to outside and 30 inches inside to inside at the point where the back meets the bench and they taper wider toward the front. It will seat two adults fine and there are harnesses for that.

tie them to the cage.

thats what I do with my kids when we go wheelin! :D

seriously though, Ive been thinking of asking the same question, my 2 oldest kids love wheeling, and they are 5 and 7. Its nice to know they have seats just for them.

I am using a set of junkyard seats that are welded to tabs that are welded to the cage.I have five point's as well.

95ish Cavalier maybe a little later years as well.I just went and picked three out that was about the same and didnt have dried blood on em.If you look at the pics youll notice they dont exactly match but close enough for a trail rig.I wanted the nice suspension seats but by the time I bought two reg seats and one of the big girl seats for myself I was going to have more in seats than the rollcage.

1-tonmudder,

Do you have more pictures of your rig. I like the way it looks in the pictures and would like to see more. Thank You.

1-tonmudder,

What type of beadlocks do you have?
I just saw your photobucket album. You have a really nice RIG. Thanks for the info. I will look in the J/Y for seats. I think that I will buy the bench seat for the rear to sit my 3 kids and be safe.
