I have done some searches and everyone seems to point to s&w, but I cant find a blazer cage on thier website. Does anyone have a link or any other suggestions? By the time i buy a bender and the tube I can much easiler buy a cage and weld it in. Any help would be great. 85 k5 is what its going in.

No help on the s&w kit, but kert at diy4x should be coming out with a cage kit sometime in the future. Most people that go with a s&w kit say if they did it again they would start from scratch.

The S&W cage is junk. Does not fit worth a crap. My K5 with the S&W cage

Same K5 with a custom cage

I have the S&W cage just like above. Does it fit as good as a nice custom built cage.........hell no, but it's a fraction of the cost also. I know cegusman always is quick to chime in on how it's crap, but by looking at the pictures it doesn't look that bad (keep in mind I'm just looking at a picture.......and it the cage was designed for a K5 that still had the top).

I am waiting for DIY4x to come out with a cage for single cab pickups...come on Kurt!!

The S&W kit is not Junk. Don't let this guy give you bad info. I wonder how much money was spent on his custom cage? The S&W cage fits really well, if you take your time, and have some basic skills. S&W has now been in business for 50 years, and they dont sell junk. They still make the blazer cage. It is in the current catalog. Give them a call. They make the cages on computer controlled equipment, and have very fast shipping.

I was actually looking at there site earlier this evening as I plan to purchase one of there cages for my 97 AWD Talon. I figured I might as well get a cage for my Blazer too. Here's a link:

I think for the money it should be worth it. I can always add some reinforcements or just add on in some way with straight pieces of tube. Sould I go with the 1-5/8 x .134" wall EWS tubing model for 279.00 or pay 499.00 for 1-3/4 x .120 wall????

I have the S&W cage also. There was some shipping problems when I got it and was missing some peices, but they corrected the problem. I am a little sore with that, because it cost me a little more money.
I added a few pieces to it.

Overall, I am happy. At a minimum, its a great start.

Only business I've ever done with this place was to buy a 2.5" BDS lift for a 2000 Tacoma, so I have no experience with their cages or custom fab work, but.... it's another option to consider. They seemed like decent folks several years ago, but it's not like we talked much :dunno:. Of course shipping could suck.
