Alright tecton, for the sake of giving both sides their say...........what do you deem an off-hyway fun in the dirt event?
Your truck does go off the pavement, does it not?
I ask not out of malice, only because your part of a pretty big "club" here and most of us are in the "hardcore" arena of this sport. You paided the money and I'm curious as to the reason you keep spouting off in the face of such a large group of wheelers...

I know exactly what you mean on the WOOHOO comment. when its happening it isnt that fun but afterwards when you see everyones fine theres a big relief and the adreneline kicks in.
most people on this board have it right this is a family sport and all should enjoy it. I know for a fact he wasnt being a dumb ass and not carring about what happened the vehicle has a cage and they were protected so the disrespectful assholes probably shouldnt post up theyre negative crap here or just stay on your side of the country because us family types dont need your badmouthing.

Ah yes, someone with a brain eh? That kind of sounds like a good thing. So, if everyone had as good of a brain as tecton, nobody who went 4 wheeling with their children would have children anymore cause they would all be taken away. Also, he didnt pick the chevy to roll it over cause he didnt want to roll a ford. Chances are, the damn ford would have broken long before it reached any obstacle hard enough to flip on. And what can you say after you roll? Of course your gonna so that it sucks, but there aint anything you can do about it, so why not take it in stride? If he was pissed, he probably wouldnt wheel anymore, which would be like you giving up watching tv because you dropped one on your foot once and considered them unsafe now.

Wow! well, that shows me why when I build a truck I am gonna put a cage in, even though I hope to never need it I want that safety! And last yr I was in the backseat of a bronco that flipped on the highway doing about 55 and ended up on top of a state patrol car. We were all scared but after we got out and everyone involved was ok then we could see some humor in the situation, so I can see how it can feel to have a dramatic situation happen, and then once your out and all is good, you take a deep breath and then think "wow that was something else and we are ok" the adrenalin surge that kicked in makes ya feel happy that all is ok and then it sorta seems fun, the same thrill involved with the risk of any "extreme" sport. but ok im rambling so im glad everyone was fine and ya kept on truckin!

Well, I thought that for sure you were a douch bag when I left for work this morning... As I was at work all day I thought well, maybe he is not such a bad guy... just very drawn into this illusion that people have that we need to have our children live in a platic bubble...

some of you guys really crack me up, not really thinking before posting on a site dedicated primarily to wheeling. as for it being safe for the kids, you have a valid point, with some people. the cage you see in poohbair's pics is obviously a well thought out safety device, designed specifically with the kids in mind. and from what we're told, and what we can see in the pics, it did its job damn well.

poohbair, glad to hear everyone is allright. i know the F#@$ YEAH! feeling after mangling some metal. i run demolition derbies, and enduro figure 8 races from time to time. bent sheet metal is awesome!

At first I tried to figure out why tecton was saying what he was saying, but you really can't so I came up with a simple formula:

OK guys, I don't normally get into these debates but please refrain from name calling etc. Everyone has different views etc. on most topics and not everyone is going to agree with everyone else that's what makes people different, I usally don't say anything until it gets to be a personal attack and that's where the line has to be drawn. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

This is where you need to go visit your proctologist and have him find your head... it is not the rollover, wreck, or whatever you want to call it that is the "family fun", It is the wheelin! The time spent w/ family! Teaching your kids about rigs and the great outdoors! Exploring! Having a family that is interested in the same hobbies!

You seem to be upset because I didn't rant and rave about rolling my rig, I did indeed think it was pretty sweet after the kids were out and everybody was OK. The whole post was to show the pics of the truck and tell the story, not get into a battle about morals w/ a ass clown like you. Go read a good issue of Better Homes and Gardens and STFU!
 
Sorry Steve, I didn't mean to get this whole thing started by posting some pics of my truck! Things just snowball, im sure you have seen it before.
 
It wasn't the first and will not be the last I'm sure, I think I prolly should close this thread maybe even delete it because there were some pretty harsh things said.
