Not a problem, but like Mikey said where does someone get off complaining about how we do things around here if he has been here for a year and knows how stuff works, you pay you see pictures that are attached, you don't pay then you don't.

Avery, do yourself a favor and LET IT GO! Not everything has to have an answer or solution. This is one of those times. It's time to take your own advice and be done with this thread and TxGladiator. Is it really worth jeapordizing your membership here over someone who doesn't want to pay to be a member?!? Hmmm, I wonder why so many people have problems with you...

yep thats it was really cool in its day .....okay it's still cool I've been doing some work on it for him and he gave me the tilt hood assembly one set of the chrome headers and the in cab rollcage :D It was pretty competetive against the trucks of its day but broke the the power glides on a regualr basis

I just can't get enough of those combine tires!
They just look sick.

I bet, I feel like a baby sometimes while lifting my 38.5" baja claws up onto the axle, they are 103lbs + rims. I have learned to just sit w/ my legs around the tire then just pick it up pushing my knees into the tire and lifting with my thighs...sure makes it a lot easier.

the trick to mounting big tires is leverage. get yourself a 3-4 foot bar. put only a few inches under the tire. viola, you exert so much less effort. I work in a commercial tire shop mounting tractor trailer tires daily. that how we did it.

What about the rim? Wouldn't you damage or chip the coating?

you really do have no experience. the bar boes under the TIRE against the ground. what good would shoving a bar in a rim do? what would you be prying against? :haha:

I'm being stupid tonight...
I'm going to go find a pic because I can't picture what you are saying in my head.

Oh and yeah, I haven't mounted a tire so I have no experience in this field.

OK say the tire is right in front of you and has to go up 2 inches to get on the studs. if you place a bar under said tire and pull up on the end that is not under said tire the tire will rise. its the same as if you put a floor jack under your tire, except your arm becomes the hydraulic cylinder.

Leverage is the reason you use a breaker bar. the further away the less power needs to be exerted. Have you ever put a pipe on a breaker bar to get a nut loose.

sorry to every one else for hijacking this thread to make it easier for Avery to mount his tires. But isn't this what CK5 is for?

No, thats not what I was talking about. I know exactly what leverage is. My question was if you are using a bar for leverage to pop the sidewall of the tire into the bead of the rim then at some point the bar has to touch the rim....so how does that not cause damage to the rim?

-Avery

this thread is getting way off topic again. your were the one who said they had a hard time putting you tires on your truck. there are countless people on here who mount their tires with bars instead of a machine. what do you think, the machine doesn't touch your rim in some way. when you mount a tire with bars the bars pry against the inside of the lip of the rim. last time I check no one cared what the inside of their rim looked like.

what happened whas the tire was laying flat on the ground I had to stand it up to role it over to the truck once it was standing up it was an easy task
