Hope that helps if anybody is lookin for ideas.

thanks, it took a while to build but worked great, the rear rack split in the middle and opened to both sides, the tire to the left and gas cans to the right. Only think I didnt get done was the winch in the front.

I am about to mount mine... tomorrow!

How did you go about mounting it to the fiberglass top?

Drilled large holes for 5/8 bolts and backed it up on the inside with 2x2 .250 steel plates, same plate on the top that the legs were welded to, so basicly had the top sandwiched and siliconed in 4 places. Yeah I built it with intentions of using to lift the top off but never did. I did use it to carry all my camping gear in a large aluminum military surplus box, it was a bitch to get up there so just left it there and would climb up and get whatever I needed out.

Sounds like a little more than what I plan on doing... but similiar ideas. Here is a copy from what I posted earlier.

I hope to get the roof rack on tomorrow.

I will bolt it to the fiberglass roof and hope for the best. I will have a rubber 'gasket' made out of a plumbing coupler between the rack mounting foot and the fiber glass top. Then on the inside I will have a rubber washer, then a large fender washer, then a lock washer, then the nut.

I think that will stop the rack from wearing into the fiberglass over time because of vibrations. I will just have to keep an eye on it for a while to make sure it doesnt loosen up.

that should work just fine, I really went over kill on all the stuff I built. My buddies made fun and laughed at me saying I could roll the blazer off a cliff and there would be nothing left but the bumpers and roof rack with little bits of blazer hanging on.

I had the bright idea of cutting a truck bed lumber rack to fit on a Blazer. One of the lumber racks that are designed to fit over a canopy should work.
