So in 2000 I bought a Rough Country 4" lift for my blazer. Currently its on my 73 K20. These are probly the stiffest springs you can get. I know its a lifted solid axle truck but its terrible. Well Im in the market for a 6.2 Diesel truck and only want to lift it 2-3" and stuff 35's on my 73's 3/4 ton axles. I was looking around and saw Rough Country now has "luxury ride" springs. Anyone have any experience with these? I know it wont ride like a Cadillac but would like a ride more along the lines of a Superlift or Tuff Country suspension.

I have the normal rough country 2" spring and shock lift on my k5. I didnt find it harsh or hard riding at all. I found it comparable to stock. Not sure what the luxury ride would be like, find it odd that they would market it like that. I guess they are going after the Off Road "Mall" cruisers.

I think they have had "luxury ride dual taper" in their ads for a decade. Find out how many leaves, the static spring rate and whether or not they have teflon pads. If they can't give you that info, it's probably a bad sign. Hopefully they are actually offering a new product.

My first lift was from Rough Country. I talked with them several times on the phone and they assured me that it would ride better than stock because of the new shocks and springs. In reality, they were giving me shocks with more damping and springs 3x as stiff, so their definition of better must be "harsher". What I'm saying is: get numbers not descriptions.

Is there some reason you don't just buy a set of TC EZ-rides instead? I've got 3" lift front springs from Tuff Country on my truck and the ride is fantastic, as is the flex when I'm in the rocks. With the 6.2, you may want to go with the HD's rather than the EZ-rides because of the extra weight on the front, but either flavor of the TC springs is a wonderful choice.

save money and ride like crap =:doah:

speand a bit more and ride super = :saweet:

tuff country and or bds.

i just turned a guy away from installing a rough country sh!t kit on a jeep. there stuff was crap i tell ya.

I put a 4" rough country on my k10 about 5 years ago. It worked fine for me at first cause I was in college and wanted a cheap lift and it worked great, but now I realized my 1/2ton doesn't have to ride like a 2ton truck and I'll eventually replace the springs with TCs
