Round Pattern 205

It always amazes me what stuff sells for on the west coast. There’s a whole pile of rust free stuff out there yet people out there pay more for a clean truck than we do on the east coast.

Out here you’d be lucky to sell a 205 for $400 round or figure 8. Then again I can go to the local junkyard and probably find 4 of them at any given time. We must be a bunch of cheap bastaids.

Where I live, complete rust free trucks are cheap as non-running projects/parts trucks. Some rare parts are more expensive like D60, NP205, non-bent 73-80 hoods, etc. But overall, I cannot get anywhere near as much here for stuff as I can if I bring it to the Midwest. Out there it is worth 2-3X what I get here.

ORD would probably want the bare cases. There's also a guy on Instagram called "bulletproofnp205" that builds and sells 205's.

How many do ya want? I can for sure bring 2 figure 8 205s, and I know theres at least 2 figure 8s at the JY.
I don't need any, but I have a difficult time turning down a deal. :haha:
I would think that if you came across round pattern cases, you would have several guys willing to work a deal, if the price is as you had said. Heck, west coast guys could make money and so would you!

The bulletproof205 guy doesn't even make it to the Moab area. I asked, since i am so close to Moab.

Wow, I've read several posts that make it sound like he's all over the place dropping of / picking up tcases.

To be honest I used to buy and sell a lot of parts but it became more of a headache than anything. You always have the lowball guys that want it for free, then you have the guys that message you all week about it and you stay home on a weekend to meet them and they don’t show up. The JY stuff needs to be cleaned up and gone through to make any decent money. Transfer cases at my local place are $90….last 205 I sold was $400 so not a bad profit but after awhile it eats up a lot of your time for money that you don’t have time to spend.

It seems like people have the small input, figure 8 205's stacked up like cord wood. I think I've got 5 of those.

That is definitely a consideration. I have had to learn that more in recent years.

Tis one advantage that I have, being an hour away from ORD. But I don't usually get cash for them, just well needed trade value!
