its a 87 k10. all new lines. all the new lines are rubber with some kind of nylon around it. its dont very well. warped up where it could rub. bolted the the frame just about every foot.

now is this safe? he said it was fi hose. i thought any FI should be steel line with the psi or am i making a big deal out of nothing?:dunno:

thanks

Gm didn't use rubber line except for connecting to solid. I doubt steel was cheaper, but I could be wrong. I always looked at it from the standpoint that rubber is more easily abraded, cut, or melted/burned from heat.

Having said that, on most of the early TBI setups, GM didn't even use pressure fittings, they simply used flared fittings with clamps.

TBI pressure is pretty darn low (near what some mechanical pumps put out) so as long as it's secured, probably not an issue. Running long fairly straight sections of steel wouldn't be that hard though.

If the guy used FI hose it should be fine. It is built to take high pressure. It is expensive stuff. I would think steel lines would have been quite a bit cheaper.

the hose should be marked on it 1 of 2 things. not for efi or somthing like that. or a psi ratting of pressure. tbi at full mod is working 18-20 psi range at regulator dependent on the mods. stock is 12-13.

well not my ride. will look when he gets here for the axles thanks
