Returning to Pollock Pines on Wednesday seems very unlikely. How many rigs are in this group?
Hey, I remember you...I used to be a regular on here, but I got banned a long time ago. I used to go by chickenrammit. I'm older and offend people more subtly these days.

I guess we'll have to see how it goes. People keep telling us that 3 days on the trail is way long.Returning to Pollock Pines on Wednesday seems very unlikely. How many rigs are in this group?

especially for those traveling out of state.I think I phrased that poorly. I think what they meant is that we could get done way quicker than that if we wanted. That's funny and ass backwardsespecially for those traveling out of state.

the whole trail in 5 hours is no traffic in a buggy, a very well sorted buggyThe trail review I was reading recently said 5 to 15 hours moving time. That's a huge spread.

another question for you guys that just ran it. Did you bring, or need extra fuel? I've got a 30gal tank. Wondering how much extra fuel I'll need, if any.
Hey Paul. I'm looking forward to catching up with you on this trip.
Exactly what Wes said. The trail can be done in one really long day, but where's the fun in that? It's a beautiful trail with lakes and springs along the way. You guys are traveling pretty far to get here. There's no need to rush it. It's nice to stop and swim at Buck Island, go for hikes, etc. We also need to consider the likelihood of mechanical failures. If the trail is the only goal 3 days might be long. If the overall experience camping friends and being in beautiful outdoors in gold country, is the goal I say 3 days is bare minimum
The trail is only 17 miles long. I ran it in my K5 with plenty of fuel to spare. I don't plan on carrying extra fuel.another question for you guys that just ran it. Did you bring, or need extra fuel? I've got a 30gal tank. Wondering how much extra fuel I'll need, if any.
cool. I pretty much assumed I'd be fine, but it never hurts to ask questions about a trail I've never been on before. The trail is only 17 miles long. I ran it in my K5 with plenty of fuel to spare. I don't plan on carrying extra fuel.
All good points, and exactly why we are planning 3 days. However, it's good peace of mind to know that if we NEED to get out, we could just put the hours in and get to the end of the trail relatively quickly.Exactly what Wes said. BTW, if you're planning on going and aren't in this list, please let me know.I guess we'll have to see how it goes. People keep telling us that 3 days on the trail is way long.
Right now, I think we are sitting at 5 confirmed.
