IVe goten almost the whole motor finished and ready to start maybe anothe rhour or two. I got a question . In my other post someone said i may have drivability issues tryung to run a 92 caprice police tbi unit off the 88 k5 cpu. Due to the fact the caprice has bigger injectors .

If it does have issues what exactly to i need to check or swap around in the k5 harness to work with the old 92 caprcie cpu. I realy dont wana have to detune the motor i no how much it has and it runs great

No need to swap in the caprice ECM. (Or CPU as you call it)
You should be able to just swap the chip from the caprice ECM to the K5 ECM. They are both the same C3 family ECM.
The chips are interchangeable as long as the cop car did not have a 4l60E trans. IIRC they used 4l60 non electric trans up till 93 on the cars
It is easy to swap the chips.

Also re The TPS sensor in your other post. After swapping the plugs you should solder and shrink wrap the wire splices.

There is no "de-tuning". More fuel doesn't equal more power, and if you dump more fuel than a motor can use, your just wasting it.

Building an engine as a package is all about best performance...GM spent a lot of time and money getting the best overall performance out of the motor that they could at the time, which means cam, heads, exhaust, PROM tuning, etc. You can't just take one piece off of the 9C1 motor (for instance) and expect it to work as well as it did on the 9C1 motor.

Not sure if that makes sense or not, but the simple fact is, the PROM is tuned for the injectors, which is all tuned to how the engine breathes, which is based on a LOT of other factors.

I'm going to lay money that the fuel and timing curve in the caprice chip is going to be different than what's needed for the K5. The K5 weighs a good 1000-1200 lbs more than the caprice and of course the tires and gearing play a factor in it as well.
