I'm thinking installing a bypass for my muffler. I could use both muffler and unmuffled when offroad. Would this save on gas millage?

Why not just install a straight through muffler that will not have any restrictions? They flow just as good as straight pipe and are perfectly legal.

some people get tired of the drone of the exhaust and from everything ive read on the camaro forums about exhaust cutouts the mileage increase is minimal, granted camaros are another beast altogether. itll add a little performance over going through the stock exhaust.

most cutouts i've ever seen just turn into rusty nightmares that leak... not worth the hassle imho...

Ive thought about electric exhaust cutouts just for the :pimp: factor, but cant justify the nearly $300 price ontop of the reqd exhaust work. :doah:

Just install a well thought out exhaust system and forget about all the fancy gadgets and what not. Plenty of racing is done through exhaust systems, making a lot of power.
