Rust converter then Herculiner?

Primers/paints generally work by either chemical bonding or mechanical bonding. Looks like you have a nice application there but always read the manufactures intructions for prep and application and call them for advice if not sure.

So I have a spot in the seat area that i pulled up as it didn’t bind correctly..not sure why any chance that maybe some acetone was left on and made it raise off?
Anyway was planning on doing another coat before putting interior back so just wondering what else I might wanna do to the bad area to make sure it sits properly ...

When I did my floors I emailed Herculiner and they said to prep w/ acetone. I think I'd read someplace that the herculiner had acetone in it as a solvent. If so, it probably wasn't the problem. Something else contaminated it.

Guess I will give it a good sanding with the metal brush and try again before doing the entire areas second gallon

Did you change your body mounts yet? Body mounts bolts go through into the bed

No I will do that first since I may mess more of the Bedliner up with the bolts on top...
Just glad I held off on the final gallon due to this ..

Anything else I should do prior to final herculiner gallon?

I don't remember their recommendations on recoating. I do remember emailing them though and they got back to me within a couple of hours. So customer service was responsive.

Had an economy pack of foam ear plugs when I did mine and plugged all of the holes I didn't want covered.
