rust repair and rocker panel replacement

Here's a few pics of the GM rocker panel fit. This was tack welded on without any tweaking. It lines up very well with the doors and fender.

I also got a rear quarter section from a long bed truck thinking they were the same as the blazer. If someone was really after a little extra tire clearance without excessive trimming, this might be a good option to keep the lines of the original fender and gain a couple inches of clearance. You can see the difference in the second picture.

Black section = stock
green section = longbed style

Very interesting factoid on those rear quarter panels....

I'd never seen the two compared side by side (or stacked) before.

Entropy: Amazingly, the rockers are still available from the dealer. bigblock72 pointed me to that fact. I replaced the passenger side a few months back with a repro and cut it off last week in favor of this one.

Greg: Yea, for about 30 minutes I contemplated finding a driver side panel as well, but I could probably still go up to 35's and be ok with the rear wheel well if I moved it back an inch or so.
