The S&W cages are decent from everything I have seen. I don't see any reason why you couldn't start with one of 'em and add a few gussets here.. maybe some x-bracing there... and be all good.

nice rig btw, even if it does sort of look like an old Dodge muscle car with that bright green paint. ;) :thumb:

thanks guys, the paint is 1970 sassy grass green with the mopar style rumble bee strip. when i was a kid my dad had a 1970 road runner with the same green paint, so i did it to mine so that one dat i can tell storys about my big bad green ect...... just like my dad. he didn't find that to be nearly as funny as i did lol :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

that sux, i'm just a user. so no looky for me unless you would be willing to post them like i did. please? are you happy with the cage?

Noticed the windshield's still in in the photo of your rig. It was taken before the windshield was taken out? Yeah, the Mopar musclecar paint job's wild, and I like it too! Don't take it off!

yeh i took the glass out after the pic was taken, it was cracked badly and had two holes the size of half dollars in it. i wanted the paint to be different on the trail that s why it's green! here is a newer pic

thanks, glad you like it. seems people love it or hate it

That Mopar lime-green's a whole lot more creative than say, blaze orange. In any case, you won't have to worry about hunter's mistaking your truck for a deer. But also, I guess you may be running open pipes too.

Check out the pics here, I guess I am happy with the cage, no major complaints. Would have been nice to bend my own, but mine turned out good enough.

cegusman- how much did the cage run you? you welded it yourself (my guess) did it come with mounting plates? how long dod it take to get? how long did it take to put in? did you run the cage to the frame? thanks for the link!

Cage was about $450 delivered plus an additional $100-$150 in extra tubing. I knotched, fitted, and tack welded it together, Had a friend weld it. It came with #6qty 1/4" 5"x5" plates. Took about a 1.5 weeks for delivery. Cage is going to be bolted to the body for now with sandwich plates, If or when I tube out the front end I will go to the frame.

you might want to check out eastcoastk5.com, and check out ken's thread on this very subject.....

i'm sure he could help you out too :D

Is there any way you could photoshop those pictures and mark which tube was with the kit or which tube came with the kit? Thanks bud
