I have a 95 S10 2.2L 5spd 2wd as my daily driver and its having some clutch problems now. Back in the spring a seal blew on the transmission, it ran dry and exploded. My neighbor was out of work and offered to replace it for me for $100. So he swapped it out with a junk yard trans and he also inspected the clutch. He said it was good, but he replaced the TO bearing for good measure. Since then my clutch had been acting up intermitantly. The pedal feels the same no matter what. The problem is that the clutch doesn't fully disengage when the pedal is all the way down. Its a real problem trying to shift and manuver around parking lots. I have to shut it off and put it into 1st or reverse otherwise all it does is grind. It seems to do this after I drive around for a bit then shut it off to go into a store for a min or two. When I start it back up the clutch does it. After playing with it and stopping and starting the engine a few times it works out and then the clutch works like normal.

I think it could be air in the clutch fluid, or a bad slave cylinder. What are you guy's opinions? I'm at a loss. The Haynes manual on the truck doesn't tell you how to bleed the clutch, so i don't even know how to do that... :doah:

I have an 84 s-15 and mine did the same thing years ago. It turned out to be the diaphragm spring on the clutch. The clutch material was good(not worn) but the spring was broken and I guess when this happens when you push the clutch apart it doesn't go apart evenly and continues to turn the tranny. Hope this helps. Maybe someone else has a different idea???
