S10, needed a beater to play with

Oh it's a 4.3, was mostly quiet before this last trip. Despite the fresh oil and a quart of Lucas that midget is about to break out of the engine block hahaha.

So gonna pull the engine next week if weather cooperates, maybe pull the pan to inspect but likely end up scrapping this 4.3.

There's a 4.3 for sale nearby with the other intake design, 154k miles supposedly runs. There's also a 1982(?) Nissan pickup that I've already agreed to buy, rusted out completely but it has a diesel engine with 93k miles. That SD22 engine was under consideration to go into the s10 in the future, plan might be accelerated.

Well the 4.3 already knocks. The little oil burner knocks normally so it's all the same at this point.

Multiple delays. Only thing holding the engine is the bellhousing bolts because they require a 9/16 swivel socket on a 3/8 drive, which is smaller than my main tool set.

Picked up the spare 4.3, clearly a different intake than the tbi on the blown engine.
