what is the best donor vehicle to find a salvage rear drive shaft to rebuild.
im looking for 2 piece, slip shaft to rebuild for my K5. minimum of 31 inches
i am ordering a good one i just want to know if used ones that will work as a spare are readily available.

u want my old shaft don't know the measurements but getting a sye so i no longer need mine.

mines got the stock joint at the top and a napa 447 for a 14bFF. but u-joints can be changed. its from a 90 k5. the on my truck is to severe causing a lot of racket in the TC so figured the SYE will fix that. tearing the TC apart tomorrow and hopefully my SYE jb conversion will come in tomorrow or early next week so i can get my driveshaft built. bhales you ever get notice ur shaft being sent?

I always look for shafts out of 3/4 or 1 ton trucks and then have them shortened at a driveshaft shop so they fit my swb truck. they have a larger diameter tube then a 1/2 ton shaft and use 1350 joints and it only costs me around $40 to have one shortened.

thanks, i just bought this truck and the previous owner swapped the axles to a 14 b rear and a d60 front, i believe they are 1350 joints. but the swap was never completed where the truck would run, so i am trying to peice together the running gear. btw, the 205 has a fixed yoke

If the 205 has a 1350 yoke, your donor will almost have to be a 3/4 or 1 ton, 2 door truck.
